Privacy
What FocusProof records, and what it never does.
During a session
FocusProof records the active macOS application, approved Chrome domain names when the optional extension is available, activity start times and durations, and the classification you choose. Inactivity is treated according to the session's uncertainty rules.
Confirmed studying away from the Mac is recorded only after you confirm it. Breaks, unconfirmed periods, ignored activity, and system-excluded time remain outside Study Time.
Stored locally
Sessions, Insights, exports, Receipts, and backups are stored on this Mac in FocusProof's local data folder. Users control any files they export, back up, move, or share.
Never inspected
No page contents, full web addresses, keystrokes, screenshots, clipboard contents, or files outside a running session are collected.
Updates
FocusProof checks the configured HTTPS Sparkle appcast when update checks are enabled. Update archives are EdDSA authenticated; the check itself is not a promise of Apple notarization or approval.
